How much fuel could you save?

For best experience please view on desktop computer or move your mobile/tablet to landscape. Please complete the fields in orange.

On the top row, please input your desired ship speed, ship dead weight and number of hatches. Based on this information the calculator recommends the number of rigs and the size.  There is a manual pull down option bar to override the rig size and re-calculates the results, giving you flexibility to experiment with different options.

The second row is associated with fuel cost per annum and the cost savings in fuel.  In the left hand orange box, input the number of days at sea and then the fuel burn per day at the chosen ship speed.  The next two orange boxes on this row are the rates for IFO 380 and MGO in tons.

The outputs are in yellow for $ savings in fuel per annum and an overall % Fuel saving.  The black box is the tonnage of fuel saved annually and the associated tonnage of CO2 saved based on the IMO conversion of 3.2 for MGO.  The cost per ton of CO2 is a manual input for the day rate on the European carbon trading exchange.
